We are looking for a Mechanical Design Intern for a 6 months internship in Toulouse (France).


About the role:

We are seeking an intern specializing in mechanical engineering and design automation to join our Mechanical Engineering Team in Toulouse. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to develop, validate, and document design tools supporting mechanical component pre-sizing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and maintenance of Python-based scripts and tools to automate design processes, including:

  • Bolted Joints, including standard hardware definition

  • Flange Sizing, to support layout and component development

  • General mechanical engineering calculations, such as: manifold and pipe sizing, beam analysis, thermal stress evaluation, etc.

  • Produce documentation covering tool usage, methodologies, assumptions and limitations for internal use

  • Validate existing tools through benchmarking against standards and real-case data

What you need to be successful:

  • Background in mechanical engineering fundamentals

  • Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting

  • Ability to perform basic structural hand calculations

  • Familiarity with component interfaces (bolted joints, flanges, seals, etc.)

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

  • Interest in design tools and engineering workflows

Soft Skills:

  • Methodical and detail-oriented approach

  • Strong problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to write clear technical documentation

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment

  • Team player with a proactive attitude

Other useful skills:

  • Experience or interest in mechanical systems and design validation

  • Familiarity with standard mechanical references or design codes

  • Spanish and / or French language skills are a plus

  • Final-year degree student with an aerospace or mechanical design-oriented curriculum
